The history of Beijing World Trade Corporation (“BWTC” for short) can be traced back to the China National Technical Import and Export Corporation Beijing Company, a company established with the approval of Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (formerly called Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation) and Beijing People’s Government in October of 1984. The Corporation specializes in the introduction of foreign technology, import of complete plants, high- and new-technology products and raw materials in large quantities. In 1992, it was renamed as BWTC.

BWTC is a State-owned enterprise mainly engaged in international trade and tendering agency, project management and consultation service. Since the beginning of 1980’s, BWTC started to undertake the technology introduction and equipment import for urban infrastructure facilities, and technology renovation projects. In 1986, the Corporation began to be engaged in procurement projects using loan or donation from foreign governments. From 1990, it began to undertake international procurement through competitive bidding under loans from World Bank, Asian Development Bank and other international financial institutions. From 2002, it began to undertake tendering of government procurement projects. From 2003, it began to undertake tendering of construction project.

In recent years, BWTC has undertaken the constructions and programs of Stadium for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games; the constructions of Line 1, Line 5, Line 4, Line 10 City Subway as well as the Aoyun branch line; the constructions of Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co., Ltd; And undertook the Inviting Public Bidding and purchasing for transmitting of natural gas project, centralized heating project etc.. As a key enterprises for imports and exports industry as well as a Tendering Agent, BWTC undertake the International Trade including technique, equipments, instruments and raw materials ect..

BWTC is entitled with:
1) Certificate of China International Trade Enterprise;
2) Certificate of A-Grade International Tendering Organization;
3) Certificate of A-Grade Governmental Procurement Agency;
4) Certificate of A-Grade Engineering Tendering Agency;
5) Certificate of dangerous chemistry product management.
